Attitude Adjustment

Hailey found herself staring at the antique mirror her mother had gotten her for her birthday two weeks ago. She had fuzzy memories of being angry at her mother for putting it in her room it, something about it being to girly and not going with anything in his room. "Hm,"  thought Hailey, "Why do I keep thinking of this as 'his' room? " vague flashes of a floor cluttered with male clothes and posters for AC/DC and The Punisher on the wall yet Hailey's room was neat and organized with posters of Taylor Swift and pictures of Hailey cheer leading. The name Trevor began to ring in her head, and Trevor was wondering why he looked like a girl. Suddenly a light emerged from the mirror and enveloped Hailey, her face went blank as if a reset button had been hit. Hailey's mother Judith stood in the door way with a worried look on her face, she new that these first two weeks were going to be the toughest as the mirror erased the out of control Trevor and solidified the angelic Hailey. As the light faded Judith cautiously spoke up, "Hailey sweety? are you ok?" Hailey slowly turned around, wearing a large happy smile, "oh yes mom I'm fine I'm just admiring the new outfit in the mirror you got me for my birthday! it's so cool and grown up! Can we go to the mall and get our nails done?" Judith allowed herself to relax, "Of course honey, and maybe we will pick you up some new clothes too!" Mother and Daughter couldn't be happier as they headed out the door.
