Lost Dog part 2

Joe and Boomer drove three blocks down when they came upon two cars with the drivers standing in the intersection. "Stay boomer" Joe said as he got out of the car and walked over to the crowd where he saw Boomers body, with Mindy's mind trapped inside, lying in th street. He began to tear up as he picked up the suffering creature and ran it to his car. Joe ran every red light on the way to the vet but his efforts were not enough. The staff at the veteranary clinic were touched by how much Joe clearly loved his dog but thought it odd that his girlfriend stayed in the car the whole time. A week later Joe was struggling to deal with Boomer in Mindy's body. he had to take him for walks in the yard and had to resort to using a leash to keep Boomer from meeting the same fate as Mindy.
