A Bright Future for Jodie

Jodie picked out her dress for the day and held it against her body. She could still enjoy little pleasures like this, the simple act of sliding on a silky dress over her lacy lingerie. Her high heels clicking against the hard wood floor while she smoothed her hair in to place and let it fall softly against her shoulders. Jodie thought about the day she finally made the decision to follow through with her transition, to become the woman she truly was meant to be in her soul. She had always been feminine looking due to a hormonal condition so she found it easy to dress and "pass" out in public. She would go to neighboring towns to her own to prevent being recognized by co workers or neighbors and thrilled in the everyday pleasures of shopping and having lunch at a cafe. The little weekend jaunts passed so quickly and the idea that she had to hide who she was became distasteful. Why couldn't she live as her true self like everyone else? So one morning she gathered her courage, went in to work and told her boss that his male employee would now be a female employee. Same skill level and smarts just in a different presentation. Jodie knew it was risky but some times life needed risk. To her surprise her boss was understanding, Jodie was one of his best employee's and it wasn't smart business to let an asset like that walk out the door. Besides, who was her boss to tell her how to live her life and pursue her happiness? Sure some of Jodie's co workers were critical, hidden bigotries began to seep out and were vocalized in hurtful and ignorant comments. Surprisingly the voices of support drowned out the voices criticism. Jodie's courage was complemented and the curiosity over a male coworker becoming a pretty female was shared by all. Jodie smiled at this, through out human history the beautiful got breaks that the less attractive did not, maybe it wasn't fair but it was the way the world worked. Now that was working in Jodie's favor, as she took her hormone treatments and her already soft features grew more feminine. She cut a very striking figure in her business skirts and heels. Life was not perfect of course, no life ever is, but Jodie was happy. She slung her purse over her shoulder, an easy and warm smile was on her lips as she went through her door into the bright future.

  1. Thanks babe. Life has been good. And pretty much nailed a lot of the impact from my choice. My time here on blogger was limited which led to my rather abrupt departure. But I'm back. Mostly as a true blog, but I may post the odd caption from time to time. Thanks again for the support.
