Body Hoppers: Things That Go Bump in the Night

Mary struggled to pull what ever was attacking her out of her mouth. She had been walking home from the bar alone, only two blocks from her apartment, when she heard a noise to her right. Suddenly something came out of the darkness and wrapped itself around her. With lighting speed it entered her mouth as she was about to scream. She was fighting as hard as she could but the more it entered her the more she lost control of her body. She panicked and wanted to run but she no longer had control of her legs and was feeling less and less control with every passing second. Mary could barely feel her right hand and head and that  was slipping away, as her consciousness faded with it. The last thing she heard before everything went black was a man's voice in her head, "Relax Mary, I won't keep your body forever. A month, maybe two, tops."

Is This Real Life?

Taylor put his head back at his favorite restaurant trying to forget the night he just had. He was a physics undergraduate who spent most of his time in the lab. He felt more comfortable among his numbers and theorems than he did around his fellow students, which was nothing new in his life. Tonight was supposed to be different, some of his lab partners had invited him out to a party. They told him there would be drinks, music and girls. Taylor was a bit nervous but agreed to go. Once he got there he tried to overcome his shyness and mix in and for a while he was doing just fine. The longer he was there though the harder he found it to keep up with the conversations, scrambling to think of funny things to say. He began to slowly recede from the party until he found himself outside and on the sidewalk. Taylor could have easily walked back in, no one would say anything. Most likely no one had even seen him leave. His anxiety was just to much to overcome, Taylor walked away slowly in to the night to find comfort in the familiar. Sitting in his regular booth sipping on his mai tai he alternated between congratulating himself for knowing when to leave before he embarrassed himself and punishing himself for being a chicken and running. The alcohol had fuzzed up Taylor's thinking and his mind drifted. He thought about the odd dreams he had from time to time ever since he was a child. In the dreams he was a girl, now a woman in the current incarnations, who was similar yet completely different than him. She had the same parents and she was very smart yet unlike Taylor she was very attractive and very popular. She had no problems making friends and living life. Taylor never told anyone about his dreams as he knew it would be frowned upon. He was attracted to women, although he did very little to pursue them, and chalked up the dream to his envy of how beautiful girls were treated by society. Taylor couldn't help but notice how they were welcome everywhere they went, fawned over and catered to. Taylor closed his eyes and drifted to sleep thinking about how life would be so much better if his real life was more like his dreams.

"TAYLOR!!"  a loud voice shouting her name snapped her awake. Her hands shot to her face and hair almost as if she was trying to make sure they were still there. Taylor's friend Carly laughed, "Damn girl, did you get roofied?" Taylor shook her head, clearing the cob webs, "Ha no, I've just been exhausted getting ready for finals and trying to find off campus housing for the summer. Which you are supposed to be helping with you hooker!" Carly took a sip from her drink, "Sorry, but you know you were going to be the responsible one when you signed up for this friendship." As Taylor got up to leave with Carly she had a faint sense of the dream she had just had. Ever since she was a little girl, she had nightmares of being an awkward boy, now man, who seemed to be frozen by anxiety in all social settings. Her dream self was dumpy and constantly sad and, worst of all to her, a physics major. Taylor couldn't see herself wasting her intellect on such a theoretical science. In real life she was a chemistry major. Chemistry was where the big science bucks were to be found. Of course it didn't hurt that on top of her smarts Taylor was hot. She was proud of her toned sexy body, she got up at four in the morning most days to work out before classes to keep it that way. She knew that it gave her extra power and control in the world and shuddered a little inside at the times in her nightmares when her male self would get naked and she would be looking down at his belly and man boobs. As Taylor left with Carly she felt grateful that those were just dreams and that her real life was much, much better.

Little White Lie

Alex sat in the back of his car watching the chaos that was developing. Next to him sat his body now inhabited by the mind of Crystal, the stripper who was giving him his first lap dance in years. Crystal was crying, it was a bit unnerving to hear himself sob like that and even more unnerving to now have huge breasts and a vagina. For a second he tried to tell himself that this couldn't possibly be happening, that he must be having some kind of psychotic break. Alex knew that this wasn't the case though, that the world around him really had been turned upside down. He had been on a bit of a dating drought and decided that dropping a hundred bucks to have some boobies rubbed in his face for a half hour was an acceptable use of his weekly entertainment budget. Crystal had that look Alex loved so much, a sexy body with an innocent face. The dance had just begun when suddenly Alex found himself blacking out. The last thing he was aware of was Crystal's body slumping on top of him as she also lost consciousness. When Alex came to he found that he was now facing down on top of some one. A heavy mass was on his head and hanging down in to his face and he had to use his hand to push it back. He was shocked to find that the mass was long curly hair attached to his head but the hair was the least of his concerns as he looked down and saw his own face! Alex saw his eyes open and a look of terror and confusion quickly took hold of his face, "Holy shit you look like me!" was the first thing Crystal said in Alex's body. For a second they both were frozen by shock, but that was quickly broken up by the screaming coming from the rest of the club. It would appear that they were not the only victims. Shouts of "Give me back my body bitch!" and "Get the fuck off me" filled the air. suddenly the unmistakable sound of a gun being fired drowned out the shouts and led to more screams. Alex jumped up and wobbled a bit in his heels and new center of gravity. Spotting an emergency exit he dragged Crystal to her feet, "come on we need to get out of here!" Crystal willingly followed her body out in to the parking lot, much like Alex she was afraid to let it get out of her sight or have it damaged. Once in the parking lot Alex could see that the swapping was not contained to the club as the street was littered with crashed cars and people flipping out. Alex led Crystal to his car, he was tempted to kick off the heels but since he was already wearing so little he figured he should at least have some kind of foot wear on. Reaching in to his former pocket he pulled out his car keys hit the unlock button and allowed Crystal to climb in to the back seat and followed her in. The roads were going to be dangerous for a while and Alex had already decided that they were going to need to wait a while before they could make a move."Crystal, do you think you could lend me the shirt you are wearing, you have a t shirt on under it, I am feeling a bit... exposed." Crystal composed herself a bit and began to unbutton the shirt. "What the hell is going on? Why is this happening?" Alex took the shirt and began to put it on, trying to ignore the way it felt so different on Crystal's soft skin and firm breasts. "I don't know, but I am glad I came here tonight instead of volunteering at the old folks home."   Crystal wiped her eyes and laughed, "Do you think they can fix us?" Alex was about to respond with uncertainty. That who ever "they" were, it would be a miracle if they had a solution to this kind of incredible phenomena. The sad hopeful expression he saw on his face gave him pause. He was at least fifteen years older than Crystal and a lot less attractive. She had lost her beauty and youth in the span of minutes. Alex couldn't take away her hope too, "Yeah. Yeah I am sure they will figure it out. Sooner or later everything is going to be just fine."
